As a microbusiness owner, I must also add that it is important not to overspend on technology! Too many startups rush out and spend their precious capital on tech they really don't need. As with all purchasing, you must focus on core business value and not give in to the temptation to buy a new toy. Great article. As a small business counselor to small business owners and start ups, I have found a significant increase in the number of individuals who are starting their own microbusiness..
I contract with our local community college system's Small Business Center to provide counseling and seminars to their clients. There are many individuals who are in their mid 50's looking to start a business. These individual's success rate appears to be much higher due to having years of experience not only in their choosen business venture, but in life as a whole.
My greatest challenge now is providing relevant information in a world of constant change.
This website is now a place I can go to stay abreast of trends, strategies, etc. and I thank you.

I own a micro business and have found a great resource to be http://thesologuide.com/. It contains great articles for "solopreneurs" or entrepreneurs who are the only employee of their company.
