Accounting, Marketing and Information technology are some of the most important skills that one must aquire. If you thought that you were ever ready to take on a business without these courses, you would make a serious mistake. My advice is to get at least some training in all of these so you are familiar with the accounting software and the basics of accounting, marketing so you know how to move ahead in this day and age and, information technology will give you all the knowledge you need to give your business an online presence and reach out to a much wider audience. I read a few books to get me going, like the big idea by Donny Deutch... but mainly just researched a lot online and utilized forums like this!
