order EVERYTHING online to save money
Status: Closed to get through the recession i no longer shop brick and mortar. honestly, i have been trying to purchase all my goods online. i even compare prices for services i need. i find that i spend much less money when i purchase items online. also, the purchases tend to be more deliberate, therefore i am less likely to impulse shop. i used to shop at Best Buy but now I buy everything online. also, i lost my health insurance recently and I definitely can not afford my prescriptions at full price, so i buy them too online. I know alot of people worry that its a scam, but if you do your research you'll find very safe, reputable places online that give you information about who to order from. There are tons. I'm sure you can find them on google, but my favore itsall my clothes i buy online. this is a big one, especially i think for women. Also, when it comes to food, i order in bulk and i never eat out. also, alway google for coupon codes. you are very likely to find coupon codes for anything from electronics to pharmacy to clothing. okay, well i hope those tips help you get through the recession a little easier.

I certainly agree that buying online instead of at the local minimart saves the shopper money. But it does have consequences. Small businesses depend on their local customers to survive. As more and more buyers go to big box stores and online, the local little guy gets squeezed out.
Local businesses are already suffering from reduced spending due to the recession, and this is compounded as shoppers move away from them. If they can't compete, then they'll close. That is the way business works and you can see it with all the empty storefronts that have popped up this year. Each business that closes puts more people out of work, and the chain continues.
So I just ask that we all give the shop around the corner a little love now when the need it most.
I think no matter how you slice this you're always going to have your brick and mortar businesses and you'll always have the online business as well as a compliment to it. There is no one size fits all when it comes to offline and online business. There will be beneifts and disadvantages to both so we're stuck with it and I'm sure somewhere along the way there will be something else that comes up that fits well in the middle of this as well but until then have fun enjoying the best and the worst of both worlds because they aren't going anywhere.
