our parents tell us to go to school for a good education, so you can get a good job. but what about the Billionaires who never went or dropped out? Are they just a select few or can everyone do that?
i personally think if you have the desire and drive you can successfully bootstrap your business as an entrepreneur ... what do you think?
I'm at a loss here, what exactly does bootstrap a buisness mean... lol?

No you don't have to go to college or higher education classes to be a billionaire but more learning and a degree doesn't hurt at all. Many people here the story about Bill Gates dropping out of college but they also don't realize when he did this he already had projected profits for microsoft in the 7 figure range and forecasting up from there.
======== The Sayre Group is a leading online reputation management company that protects high-level clients from complex online situations.
I agree that you don't have to go to college to be a successful businessowner, but those without the education often have to work harder to make up for what they don't know. Not everyone has the unique idea or product to build the next Microsoft or Dell. The majority of people are working in everyday businesses, where education can make a difference.
I was always thaught that education is the key to success. I completed a college and university degree for business but to be honest now i dont think i needed to do it.
I feel i have learned more on my ownm then through school, however I still think you should attend school and get the experience, the document, and build your network.

I think in general, those who have a formal education don't have to overcome as many obstacles as those who don't. There are some exceptions, however, like some professional athletes or some who make it big in entertainment, but for the "average" person a formal education will give you more earnings over your lifetime than someone who doesn't.
I don't think it's that black-and-white. Education won't make you smart, but it will make you educated. You have a better chance of success if you're smart and educated.
Also, success can't occur in a vacuum. You can be the smartest and most educated person on the planet and if you don't ever interact with other people, you can't be successful beause nobody will consume your products or services. While getting an education, you interact more with other people who have a higher likelyhood of success and thus, your later business interaction with them improves your chances of success.
Consider as well, that school provides not only a platform for learning, but an understanding of how to learn. More-and-more, jobs require you to keep learning up to retirement. If you don't develop good study habits and a solid educational foundation, you may find it more difficult to keep up with others as years pass.
Yes, there are billionairs that dropped out of school, but they got into Stanford before they dropped out.
I worked for AT&T a few years back and they would not consider you for a managerial position without a college degree. Some of my colleagues were frustrated by this but many companies set the bar this way.
It all depends on what you want to do and where you live for an education to be relevant. I will give a few examples for you to understand what I mean.
Say you are the son of a farmer in a small town in Idaho. If it were not for a pursuit of an education, you may never leave your small town, move to a bigger city, get exposed to culture, ideas, higher learning, meeting people, socializing, finding out what you want to do with your life, you would be set in your life as a son of a farmer, and have limited life experience in which to draw upon successful business ideas.
Success is very reletive.
if you mean by financially success, its preety easy, start a business, invent an idea, work for somene, meet your goals and targets you set for yourself, of if you are a follower, meet the targets and deadlines that are given to you.
I will give some real world examples.
I have two degrees and have been working online for the last 5 years. I do not think my degrees really helped shape the success in my online businesses, they contributed, but they did not play an essential role. I have been a life long enterpreature, selling home made lotto tickets at 8, selling fruit and vegtables from my garden, then latter arrangeing the sale of my neighbours berries and fruit for a small cut at 11, to running a youth drop in center at 16 and so on. You either have the spirit to want to be successful inheriently, or you learn it by either practical application based on friends experiences , or collegues, or from a formal education.
Some people just need a kick in the pants to get stuff done, school is great for that. The average person is procrastinative, uncertain undriven, unmotivated, school trains them to lose those habbits and develop more positive ones, some people learn to overcome those factors, most dont.
Again, success is measured by oneself only, there is no abolsalute pathway of success. You need goals, and to meet them, you need to measure up to your own personal expectations.
